Jennifer didn’t like me

February 11, 2008 · 3 Comments

I actually forgot that I had a pen-pal named Jennifer.  She was my pen-pal in grade three and I wrote all about our day together in my journal.

boat005.jpgI guess she didn’t like me though.  If you read the last line of my journal entry it says, “Most of the time I was following Jennifer but Jennifer wasn’t really interested in playing with [me] but it didn’t bother me.”   Her loss.

These are two pages from an extracurricular book that I wrote in grade 1 titled, “The Book About Pretend Boats”.  I hope that the pants and feet boat make you happy. boat001.jpgboat002.jpg   If you like my interpretation of the Sun then you might find this amusing:   www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJExgzHu6

Penpal guilt.

January 22, 2008 · 4 Comments

I am a bad pen-pal.    My bad penpal habits started with Renee, from Quebec.  She was my penpal from Brownies and in one of my letters I lied about how many badges I had (I was also a bad Brownie).  She came and visited me after a couple years later and found me out!  Once she got home from her trip she still wanted to write but I stopped writing her back.    Around the same time I was cutting the link between Renee and me, my sister and I started receiving very strange letters from Ghana.  They were from young students in Ghana who eagerly wanted penpals.  Some people said that they saw our address in their local newspapers, other said that they actually bought our addresses from their headmaster at school, while others never told us how they found us.    This is a little snippet from one letters stating that they saw “[my] name in the daily graphic, newpapers in Ghana.”:  letters259crop1.jpg   For some unknown reason one young man sent me a job application from Ghana for a position as a draftsman.  At the time I was ten years old.letters260crop.jpg   Most of the letters that I received also mentioned my sister, Madeleine, and spoke about praying for me and my family.  The letters were also very religious.letters258crop.jpg   They also sent money.

Everyone wrote about how happy they were to be my friend… but I am a bad penpal. letters261crop.jpg  I haven’t written a letter to Ghana for years and I think it might be time to rekindle my old penpal friendships.  So in the next couple weeks I will be writing to each of my old penpals(I am not sure how many there are, yikes). Oh and if anyone wants to buy penpal addresses off me I can sell them for cheap, cheap, cheap(this is a joke).    How much would you pay for my address in hopes that we could one day be penpals? Those kids buying my address got ripped off.

I am actually not obsessed with cats.

I have a youtube account and I have posted videos.  The videos that I have posted are just silly moments that I recorded with the video setting on my digital camera.   They are not really intended for anyone other than my family and friends.  I was really surprised when I realized you could check and see who has linked the video clips to their blogs, websites, myspace, etc.

Two short videos that showed my friends having a whipping cream fight were linked to strangers myspace sites.  I think this is funny.

Below is my most popular youtube post:
